This is my work for the final art exam which was today.
We are all busy. Some adults hurry each morning. They take their kids to school, then rush to work. I am no exception. I hurry to school. I hurry to finish my exams. Humans live with the idea that they live in the routine. They cant find anyhthing that makes them happy. People do not smile or even notice small things anymore. They are not creative. So my work represents this social problem.
The main idea is that people who live in their routine can still find happiness in small things. My work is full of symbols that have a specific meaning. The main symbol is of course the female. In Lithuanian literature it is common that females are not the family's head. They usually do all the work and are seen as weak creatures. In this drawing, you can tell that the woman is strong (muscles). From her heart new branches are growing. That means, that new ideas are born. What is more, trees are black because they show the negative world that we live in when we keep thinking about our routine.
I got inspired by
and Camille Corot. Their artworks really made a big impact. I was able to choose such colors. Camille Corot painted landscapes and mainly females. In
works you can find lots of various colors in landscapes (Especially in nature. In my work trees represent a negative emotion)
"Reborn" took me a few months to create. I am satisfied with the result, even though I could have done better with shading clouds.
Overall, I could say that there are lots of problems in our world. It is natural that we, humans, try to solve them. But we dont see small problems around us. So I hope that people who will see "Reborn" will take a moment and think about this social problem.
